Annie's Acres is located on Spurlin Mesa in west central Colorado near the town of Hotchkiss. The 360 degree view from our farm provides a variety from mountains to arid adobe hills to fruit orchards of apples, cherries, peaches and apricots. Our climate is fairly mild for Colorado - lows occasionally dip to zero in the winter and the summer days get into the 90's, with a few days tipping the thermometer at 100. Our farm consists of 35 acres, 16 of which are hay fields. We pasture our donkeys, mules and horses in the winter and feed home-grown hay in the summer. Each Spring brings something new! All of the donkeys at Annie's Acres are registered with the NMDA and our spotted donkeys are additionally registered with ACOSA. Excellent conformation, disposition and color are the primary goals of Annie's Acres. Each donkey is imprinted at birth. Our donkeys are gentle and loving (almost always - donkeys DO have their moments!). Visitors are always welcome! We're close to the Black Canyon National Park, so on your next vacation, give us a call and stop by.
